Here are some pics of her waiting patiently behind my buddy's garage for me to figure out the carb problems... took about three weeks to sort it all out. Note she's still wearing the Minnesota tags.

Breaking the info down as follows...
The serial number at the top
9 is the year, 1969
H is the assembly plant code, Lorain
11 is the body serial style code, 2 door hardtop, formal
H is the engine code, 351 Windsor 2 barrel carb
The next six numbers are the acual serial number, Mercurys started with 500001 for 1969
the bottom row as follows...
65D, 2 door hardtop, formal, bench seat
Q is the color code, medium blue metallic
6B is the trim code, which for some reason can mean dark or light blue vinyl (mine is light blue)
20B is the date code, Febraury 20th assembly
52 is the district code, Los Angeles
6 is the axle code, 3.00 to 1 open
X is the transmission code, FMX
