Hi. My name is Mike, and I suffer from this terrible affliction, Montego Madness. Many years ago, my first car was a 69 Montego MX that had been my father's and he bought it new in September 1969. I started driving it in 1975, through high school and first year of college, but alas, a bad heater care, lack of time and money, and rising fuel prices (yes, it was bad back then too) I traded it on a 3 year old Mustang II Ghia. Just about ever since, I have been watching for a decent Montego to buy. Then out of the blue, I found this one for sale on a website, not only was it in decent shape, it is a virtual clone of my first car! Same colors, almost the same options... Original MX had a 302, automatic, AC, PS, power disc brakes, AM radio, vinyl top... The diference is this one has a 351 windsor, and and non power 4 wheel drum brakes. This one is a California car, so rust is VERY minimal. Currently trying to work through some running issues... dies after a few minutes. Going to put a new fuel pump, coils, cap, rotor, points, and condensor on soon. Already rebuilt the carb. So, as work progresses, I'll update this site.

That is an amazing find, very cool car. It's just like my Dad's, except his was red and had power front disc brakes with the 302.
Good luck with it. Also remember that many undercarriage parts like brakes and suspension were actually shared with Torino, so if you can't find Montego parts check with Torino web sites.
Can't wait to see yours when you finish it. Good luck,
Joe
